Belonging: Exploring Healthcare Needs of New Canadians through Theatre

  • Arts-based Research Studio, 4-104 Education north, University of Alberta 116 Street and 85 Avenue Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 2R3 Canada (map)

The Arts & Humanities in Health & Medicine (AHHM) program at the University of Alberta would like to invite you and members of your organization to Belonging: Exploring Healthcare Needs of New Canadians Through Theatre. The event focuses on how we can improve healthcare for immigrants and refugees, by providing a space for collectively exploring and navigating issues of language and cultural barriers between healthcare providers and new Canadians. Directed by David Diamond and performed by a cast of immigrants, refugees, and healthcare provider, the event will be a forum theatre performance where audience members will have the opportunity to come up and engage in the live play to navigate real issues in stories curated by the community.

It will be an extremely rewarding and enlightening opportunity. We hope to see you at the event! Admission by donation.
