Monotype (noun): a single print taken from a design created in oil, paint or ink, on glass or metal.
After a successful exhibit at Edmonton’s Harcourt House, print artist Sara Norquay will encourage workshop participants to self-reflect and try their hand at monotype portrait printing. Using ink, plates, pencils, brayers, and paper Sara demonstrates how to make a print that doesn’t require a press.
No experience is necessary–all that’s needed is your imagination and desire. Held as part of the Sense of Self exhibit that runs August 25th until October 14th in the McMullen Gallery.
